Foxhollow Chardonnay

Name: Foxhollow

Variety: Chardonnay

Country: California

Year: 2012

Price: $6

Bottles Finished: 0 (Tasting only)

Wine review:  This Chardonnay’s aromas of tropical pineapple, crisp green apple and citrus are supported by underlying nuances of vanilla. The finish is smooth and creamy yet balanced with enough acidity to accentuate the vibrant fruit flavors with a hint of orange blossoms.

My review: Foxhollow produced a decent Chardonnay, though it's not as exciting as the bottle's description. On the nose I detected sweet strawberries with crisp apple, and on the palate it was buttery. I wasn't too impressed, I had the impression that this is the kind of Chardonnay that would be served at bars that don't know anything about wine, they just had this in case anyone orders a white wine every once in a blue moon. This would pair nicely with a creamy chicken dish or a white, flakey fish.
